Linda Boeckner

Dr. Linda Boeckner has been director of the Panhandle Research and Extension Center and Panhandle Extension District since August 2008. Prior to her appointment as director she had been an Extension Nutrition Specialist at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center since 1987. Her Extension programs focused on reducing risk of lifestyle diseases through diet, weight management, and nutrition and fitness for youth.

She received her education at the University of Nebraska and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. The Doctor of Philosopy degree was awarded in May, 1982 from the University of Nebraska. Prior to joining the staff at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center, Linda worked as a registered dietitian in the North Carolina public health service for the Special Supplemental Foods Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), and taught introductory nutrition, meal management and nutrition through the life cycle courses for the University of Nebraska on a part-time appointment.
