NU Panhandle Alumni chapter recognizes Alumni of the Year
Cheryl and Bill Trumbull of Scottsbluff are the recipients of the 2013 Alumni of the Year Award from the University of Nebraska Panhandle Alumni Chapter. The award was presented at the chapter’s annual Founders’ dinner at Gering by Bryan Henderson, the 2012 winner.
The Alumni of the Year Award recognizes individuals in the panhandle who have supported the NU with their attendance at various University activities, promoted UNL in their communities and been actively involved in their communities and successful in their careers. As a couple and individually, the Trumbulls have helped to promote NU by serving on the Panhandle Alumni Board, promoting Panhellenic activity, actively participating in the Scottsbluff-Gering United Chamber of Commerce and other community activities, and providing a successful business for the Scottsbluff-Gering area.
Also at the annual dinner, recipients of Panhandle Alumni Scholarships were announced, including Ashtyn Shrewsbury of Alliance High School, Luke Johnson of Potter-Dix High School, Naomi Isaka of Sidney High School, Victoria Holub of Scottsbluff High School, and Colton Flower of Scottsbluff High School.
New officers for 2013 were elected: President, Mark Schlothauer; vice president, John Marshall; secretary, Karen Schultz; treasurer, John Flint; past president, John Selzer; and committee members, Bryan Barrett, Laura Lyons, and John Schmall.
